Dear Members
Annual General Meeting 2008 and Board of Directors 2009:

I would to thank the over 50 people that attended our AGM back on Saturday, October 18. ¨Positive ideas and constructive feedback were generated by the group, after what was a terrific season at Kew, despite all of the bad weather! I am pleased and proud to announce that the 6 incumbent directors were re-elected and Ev McLean now joins the team for 2009 to round out the Board. Below is a list of the Directors in alphabetical order and their various portfolios and areas of responsibility:

Ed Flanigan -President and General Manager

Robert Hue -Tournaments and Plant

Barry Kohl - Marketing and Communications

Ritchie Lanys - Teams and Community Relations

Bernard Martin - Treasurer and Finances

Ev McLean - Socials and Special Events

Violetta Nesukaitis – Secretary and Membership

Giselle Portenier - Vice President and Renovations

Frank Yee - Junior Programming and Development

If anyone would like to volunteer time and ideas to help the club in the coming year, in any area or capacity, please contact Ed Flanigan through email at flanny@rogers.com. Also, we are looking to establish a garden and flower committee, to help make the front and north fencing inside and outside of the new patio area, more welcoming and appealing for next year.

Finally, I would like to thank again our terrific staff on and off the court, led by Head Pro Adam Baranowski and Club Manager Paul Clark, for all their hard work and for making their first season at their respective positions at the club, very successful! On behalf of the new Board, we hope everyone has a fun winter and cheers to an early and warm spring!

On behalf of the Board and Staff I would like to wish our members and families a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year.
Best wishes, Ed Flanigan, President, 2008-2009.

Court Booking

The hard court booking system will be continued this year - a sameday phone booking Monday to Friday 6:30 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. on the hard courts only. Bookings are one hour only and all players must be club members. Booking will be taken after 9:30 a.m. No courts can be booked via phone message - you must speak to the club manager. We are excited to be one of the first community clubs to try this innovation.

Court Booking Policy:

  • Make sure to book a court ahead of time to avoid any inconvenience
  • If you have booked a court, try your best to keep the appointment
  • If the clay courts are full, try a hard court
